Small Business Sunday Winners Event - Edgbaston Stadium

WOW! What more can I say, as if winning the Small Business Sunday Tweet back in September 2011 wasn't enough, last Friday 30th March I attended the #SBS Winners event at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham and met the delightful Theo Paphitis himself.

 I finally got to meet the lovely Tia Lush herself from whoatemycrayons.com; Tia has spent hours on the other end of the computer re-designing my giraffe logo and creating leaflets and business cards from the Lizajdesign images, highly recommended!

I also had the opportunity to meet other successful Small Business Sunday Winners who often are on the other end of Twitter for advise and fellow notonthehighstreet.com crafty designer suppliers. Theo Paphitis gave us a wonderful and inspiring long talk about business and the developments of the Small Business Sunday, creating a new logo and a fantastic website designed and hosted by Chris Wheeler @metalfrogst who happens to be based in East Anglia too!

After taking the time to talk to us all Theo Paphitis presented us with a winners certificate and the opportunity to have our photograph taken professionally.

Finally after thanking Theo for all his time he had given up to inspire all the small businesses at the event, another photo opportunity that couldn't be missed!

10" Picture Canvases back in stock mid January 2012

It has been a little crazy in the Lizajdesign studio preparing orders for Christmas, not just for gifts but for new nursery rooms being created for newborns due around this time of year! Recently Lizajdesign had several orders for size 10" canvases (some pictured in working progress above). All the orders have been fulfilled for the Pre-Christmas deliveries but new stock of blank canvases in the 10" size will not arrive until mid January 2012, so they have temporarily gone out of stock on the websites.

For your information 12", 8" are still currently available and a new 6" size limited stock will be launched very soon...

Pony Design on lemon - Jungle on turquoise

 

I had some lovely orders to dispatch the other day and I'd thought I would share them (in a spare five minutes of Christmas madness)! Shown is the Jungle Original Name Canvas on a turquoise background and the new Pony Prints on a lemon and on a lilac background.

 

The Pony Print Personalised is available on eight different background colours and can be personalised with a name of your choice. As standard is comes supplied as the picture here shows secured in a white core mount and backboard packaged in a cello bag; optional frame choices are available.

The Jungle Original Name Canvas is available on three different background colour options and can be personalised with a name up to 7 letters (medium size) and up to 9 letters (large size).

All items come gift wrapped in orange tissue paper as standard, orders over £30.00 have free mainland UK delivery and orders under £30.00 for the month of November P&P has been reduced to £1.45 (normally £2.45).

Don't forget hand painted products need to be ordered by Monday 5th December for Christmas delivery!

Supporting Riot Raffle

I have just updated my website to include the badge that Lizajdesign is supporting Riot Raffle.

What is Riot Raffle?

Riot Raffle was set up by the lovely Zoe Grant http://twitter.com/#!/zoeanddrew after watching the riots that devastated our capitals on Monday 8th August, Zoe blogged "Feeling helpless as I do not live close enough to pop along and help and realising I wasn’t the only person feeling this way I had an idea of a raffle" (quote http://www.riotraffle.org/about/ ).

After much help with setting up a website and a logo Zoe created Riot Raffle "Riot Raffle is about a creative community coming together to support other independent businesses in a time of crisis. Today we have over 80 independent businesses donating prizes for Riot Raffle" (quote http://www.riotraffle.org/about/ ).

Riot Raffle is such a good cause and it's in association with Retail Trust which looks after the people in retail, those business that were damaged and destroyed by the Riots.

Lizajdesign has donated the Jungle Monkey Personalised Print (more details can be found on my website click here. I chose to donate this prize as it is a universal personalised print that would be suitable for a boy or girl in the popular cheeky monkey design!

Jungle Monkey Personalised Print

New designs launched on website

It has been a busy month of new design requests coming in, which has been fantastic! I've only now had chance to share them with you and upload them to my website and Not On The High Street website; well all bar the pastel orange version of Jungle Pastel Name Canvas, coming soon!

I've had two requests for the Pirate Scene Canvas painted with a girl pirate and not soon after the Football Name Canvas with a girl footballer so these have become new designs for 2011. Both the pirate and the football designs are also available as my new growing print collection:

The Football Name Print is available in the boy and girl designs as a mounted (unframed) option or framed in these beautiful chunky wooden frames in two colourways -green or white.

Giraffe!

 

 

On a recent trip to France I visited an amazing zoo where you get right up close to the animals. Here I have captured my favourite the giraffe of which is the original inspiration around Lizajdesign! Isn't she beautiful!
