One Year Later!

The Blogger has been abandoned! It's been a year since the last post- how did that happen? 

Where has the time gone?

A quick run down in the year of 2014 will hopefully bring the Blogger back up to the present 2015 future, so here it is...

The early part of 2014 

consisted of building, reducing stock ready for the move into the new Lizajdesign studio, which officially opened in September 2014. At the same time my youngest child started full-time school and Lizajdesign became more than just a part-time/evening job, it now has dedicated premises and specific storage drawers where more stock and working progress can be kept for the day-to-day running of the business. The white floor was a must and I'm so pleased I went with my gut-feeling on how I wanted the finished studio to look (it took a lot of research and time to find a white real wooden floor but it was worth-it)! The whole colour scheme is white and orange with a grey back drop wall specifically for photography.

Since September 2014 time has allowed

more new designs to be developed and show-cased, 

for example the new Football Name Canvas and
the new type face on the Football Print Personalised to co-ordinate with the collection.

The Graffiti Name Canvas was featured in the Not On The High Street "Gifts for Teenagers" section on their website so it now has developed into a range of popular colour combinations.

2014 was the year of more Pony Commissions, 

to date I have yet to launch a couple of the ponies shown here. I have fallen in love with 'Colin';
'Pearl' and 'Jess are gorgeous and I enjoyed painting them as a set for a special gift to two sisters.

In November the Poppy was significant, 

as well as hand painted canvas seen here 'Poppy Picture Canvas' I was involved in a mural project with the local Primary school, which was a fantastic experience with the local school children all painting their individual poppies onto a backdrop I created inspired from the youngsters designs, I am yet to showcase the finished product, but will do in the near future.

Fine Art Prints have been fine tuned 

so they are even more personalised as seen here in the Rag Doll Print Personalised, which includes name, date, birth weight and time, this was also a new feature on the Cow Print Personalised.

The New Woodland Collection was finally launched in 2014 (it is a 2010 design but has never been available to all until now) - this is a design very personal to me as it was the range I made especially for my youngest's nursery at the time, shown here Woodland Picture Canvas.

So that's 2014 in a brief nutshell; 

2015 is already off to a good super busy start with two new designs in January (yet to launch) and many in the pipeline. Here goes the Choo Choo Train!

The Choo Choo train design has got a bit bigger, with new products now launched on the Not On The High Street storefront, I'd thought I'd take some time out from painting and share them with you!

The original design in this collection is the Choo Choo Name Canvas
Which is now available in three sizes (the Large size is new)
Medium W30.5 x H25.4 x D3.8cm
Large W40.6 x H30.5 x D3.8cm
Grand W45.6 x H35.6 x D3.8cm
You can personalise the painting with a name up to 9 letters, depending on what size is chosen.

 

The original design just got.....l o n g e r,  The Choo Choo Train Name Canvas Long is painted on a rectangle sized canvas so the name on the track is behind the train.

Dimensions:  

Medium Long W50.8 x H20.3 x D3.8cm (up to 6 letters)

Both Name Canvases can be extra personalised with a date on the train's door and a special message if required.

Finally, The Choo Choo Train Picture Canvas has now been launched on the site, which can be personalised with a name on the door.

Congratulations William and Kate!

Congratulations William and Kate for delivering safely a baby boy! 

As of writing we are yet to know the name of a future king but all excited to hear what they decide to call him.  In my last post I mentioned that I had been recently asked to create the Jungle Name Canvas suitable for a boy and a girl, so here are the finished results! 

These Name Canvases would look lovely in a jungle themed nursery for twins that share the same room. The design is the Jungle Pastel Name Canvas priced from £55.00, Sophie is painted on a pastel orange background and Oliver the pastel green background.

Jungle Name Canvases- Personalised

Recently I got asked whether I could provide two Jungle Themed Name Canvas suitable for twins, with a slight varient for a boy and a girl. It inspired me to produce the above sample- to showcase a selection of recent works within the Jungle Theme. 

The Jungle Original Name Canvas was the first ©2007 personalised Name Canvas designed, initially on the lemon coloured background. This design features the giraffe and monkey with a lion in the top right-hand corner and the tiger in the bottom right-hand corner with a zebra and an elephant. The background colours progressed to also include green and turquoise; it is available in two standard sizes - Medium (up to 8 letters) or Large (up to 10 letters).

A smaller sized personalised canvas was created called the Jungle Original Name Canvas Plaque- which just features two characters, the giraffe and lion, available on green, turquoise or lemon background colourways.

To co-ordinate with the pastel colourways a different Name Canvas was designed ©2008 titled Jungle Pastel Name Canvas, again available in sizes Medium or Large. The slight varient features the giraffe and monkey with a crocodile in the top right-hand corner and lion in the bottom right-hand corner with a zebra and snake. It is available on a growing numbers of colours due to previous requests, currently Pastel Orange, Pastel Green, Pastel Blue, Pastel Pink.

The smaller version is called the Jungle Pastel Name Canvas Plaque shown above in the Pink colour option but is also available on Pastel Blue and Pastel Green.

So the answer to the question is "yes" there are options to have two identical themed canvases with a slight twist for a boy or a girl and if there is a particular colour that you have in mind and I haven't shown, please enquire as these are hand-painted canvases- usually anything can be done!

Spring time newborn gifts

It's been a busy Easter holidays, here is a selection of orders that have gone out recently. This time of the year (now it's starting to get a little warmer) is a great choice for the Farm Original range.

What's in a name?

I recently had two orders within hours of one another for the same name "Thomas" but different designs, they were to be sent to completely different addresses so I presume they were not intended for the same person. To show you how "Thomas" looks in the two designs:

Number of letters..

On the medium sized canvas I stipulate up to 7 letters in the name as from doing many this number always fits perfectly. Though recently I had an order come through with the name "Benjamin" but because the name includes the letters "j" and "i" I was just able to make it fit- so if you have got an 8 letter name that includes narrow letters just double check as I could probably make it fit.

Hoppy cluck quack easter

It's that time of year where the popular Farm Original range is on show, a special gift for all the newborn babies around easter, Spring time.

I am a personal favourite of this time of year as I welcomed a Spring baby (a few years ago now) and much loved painting the nursery mural with bunnies, daffodils, birds and animals!


All hand painted canvases do have a lead time of up to 21 days so unfortunately the order book is full now for hand painted pre-easter gifts, but orders are still being taken and dispatch will be shortly after the long bank holiday weekend (at the time of writing).

However - NEW! This week are two personalised prints, one featuring a cheerful yellow duck and the other a pink bunny on a lilac background- all prints have a lead time of 7 days so order in the next few days if you would like to give a unique and special keepsake this easter.

Happy New Year 2013- The year of the Snake!

Happy New Year 2013! Last year went soo quickly, the Christmas tree is now down and normality for 2013 is starting all over again, well nearly...
