Ahoy matey... time for adventure!

It's been a busy busy couple of weeks in the Lizajdesign studio.

The pencils and paint brushes have not stopped, it is a particularly challenging time of year with young children and the school holidays so, in order to fulfill existing orders and with the hope of some tropical sunshine (perhaps a trip to paradise for a few days), no new orders will be taken until 1st September 2013.

Powerboat Racing UK- Sprint Championship

Back in May this year "the giraffe got wet" was featured on Parklands Racing Powerboat, raced by Tom Yallop; well now the newly designed and vectorized Pirate has pride of place on his boat next to his number 71.

The pirate had his first outing in the water on the weekend of August 3rd/ August 4th, the Sprint Championship held at Stewartby Powerboat Racing Club - SWSC.

Schools out for Summer...

It's the School Holidays!

Saying goodbye to the teacher at the end of term, this year my daughter presented her teacher with a card designed exclusively (yet to be released) by Lizajdesign (card production is something Lizajdesign will expand into in the Autumn); as well her teacher received a lovely matching purple lip balm owl by Lilac Coast .

Running your own business with products that are hand-painted/ made-to order can be a challenge during the school holidays - Lizajdesign has been inundated with orders, I recently looked at my planner for the next three weeks and realised I potentially have one day off (which I had scheduled in)- SO... I have had to put the popular Name Canvases out of stock until Monday August 12th 2013, as these products are a little bit more time-consuming. As well, it is my youngest final Summer before she joins Nursery so as they grow up so quick, we must enjoy them while they are young!

School Art Club Masterclass...

During term time I was asked to attend the local after-school Art Club, so I prepared a little masterclass for the Year 1 and Year 2 children to participate in. The children had six characters to choose from and the designs were created over several weeks, the results were fantastic. The children loved creating their own Name Picture Canvases, it was so sweet, one boy told me "this is the best art I've ever done"!

Congratulations William and Kate!

Congratulations William and Kate for delivering safely a baby boy!

As of writing we are yet to know the name of a future king but all excited to hear what they decide to call him. Here's a selection of personalised canvases and prints ideal for a newborn baby boy, lovely gifts or keepsakes and to add that finishing touch to his nursery room once he has been named. Looking at the selection here we have names Harry, George, William, Henry, Oliver, Thomas - I wonder if the royal baby will be called one of these names?

All prints are taken from Lizajdesign's original artwork reproduced as a giclée high resolution fine art print using archival pigment inks ensuring a long lasting print; printed on heavyweight (310gsm) slightly textured fine art paper, pH neutral, very thick with a high gamut volume. Today the giraffe got wet!

The giraffe got wet!

Today the giraffe reached new surroundings...

Normally the Lizajdesign giraffe would end up on a newly decorated nursery wall or wrapped up neatly in orange tissue paper ready to give as a gift for a newborn baby, Christening present or a birthday gift; however today the giraffe was found in the water!

The giraffe has found pride of place on Tom Yallop's powerboat No. 71 for Parklands Racing and today Tom was racing locally in Oulton Broad for the Lowestoft Grand Prix as part of the bank holiday weekend (26/27 May) 2013 Powerboat GP RYA British Championship

Tom is competing for the GT30 class in the second round of the British Championship, "hosted by the Lowestoft and Oulton Broad Motor Boat Club at Nicholas Everitt Park, where over 40 team’s battle it out for valuable championship points in eight different classes" (quote: RYA Powerboat Racing).

Jungle Pastel Name Canvas for Sophie and Oliver

In my last post I mentioned that I had been recently asked to create the Jungle Name Canvas suitable for a boy and a girl, so here are the finished results!

These Name Canvases would look lovely in a jungle themed nursery for twins that share the same room. The design is the Jungle Pastel Name Canvas priced from £55.00, Sophie is painted on a pastel orange background and Oliver the pastel green background.

Meanwhile, soon to be launched is a long awaited update of the Lizajdesign website... At the moment all products can be purchased from the Not On The High Street shop but keep an eye out this week.
